Joy, I thought of you this morning when I visited with the daughter of one of our patients. I met the daughter 12 years ago when her 16-yr. old daughter was killed in a car accident. She came to our grief support group for several years. I had lost touch with her over the years and here she is today. She shared some of what has been happening in her life. Her brother died of cancer. Then she was diagnosed with rectum cancer and went through radiation and chemo. Is in remission now. And, now she is looking at end-of-life issues for her mom. She is a faith-filled woman and a true inspiration. On her t-shirt in bold letters is the word HOPE!

What a wonderful example of there always being hope. Something I talk with the nurses about in nursing orientation.
