Good afternoon all,
I will join Joy in saying thanks to Mike about the normal/natural distinction. It is a very valid point. With regard to the “smells” thing… my dad died of a massive heart attack in 1978 – I was 23 years old. A few years ago I was traveling and stopped to get gas and a Diet Coke. I walked by a man standing outside smoking a pipe… I stopped and asked him if smoked “Captain Black” pipe tobacco. Yes, as a matter of fact he did. Same kind as my dad. So nearly 40 years later – I still knew that smell. It wasn’t grief by that time as much as it was an appreciation for the reminder. My dad was one of the good guys.
