I have also been through a divorce. Although I am healing (it was 5 years ago!), it still is difficult to deal with when our children are involved. And I think I am on the hurt end of that more often than he is because he remarried fairly quickly and has let go better than I have! It is hard on our kids to maintain that place of being in the middle, not showing favoritism or being overly hard on either parent. So I guess I fall into the trap of feeling like it will last forever, even though I know it will not. Time does help. Our youngest daughter just found out she is pregnant, so I will be forced into many situations with my former husband and his new wife going forward. Opportunities for continued growth and consciousness, right?
