Course Begins August 13th.

Overview: Spiritual concerns are important to most people, particularly in older years and at the end of life.  Long term care spiritual caregivers are challenged to deliver quality care to large populations of aging people without many resources.  The research in this area is scant and spiritual caregivers are left to discover best practices on their own. This seminar will review some of the few research articles and explore the issues that need to be addressed in order to build a solid foundation for spiritual care in long term care settings.

Learning objectives:

  1. Explore some of the empirical research that suggests best spiritual care practices in long term care.
  2. Discuss challenges and opportunities in surviving and thriving as a long term care chaplain.
  3. Learn from other colleagues in long term care what practices work and which ones don’t.
