Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others, a book written by New York Times Best Selling Author, Barbara Brown Taylor will be discussed during our three-week collaborative learning seminar.

The course is a three-week online seminar course that begins on May 14.

Overview from the beginning of the book

Taylor tackles the questions, worries, and concerns that arise when we encounter “difference” and “others.”  This is not a primer on religions; instead, she explores what is opened and what is revealed when we accept the invitation to investigate all the wonder before us. Here we learn not only that God’s preferred language is driven by curiosity and specializes in questions, but we also discover the spiritual riches God can teach us from the faith of others.

Learning objectives:

  1. Learn how Taylor was able to rethink much of her Christian journey while teaching college students about other faiths.
  2. Discover different methods for deepening your understanding of similarities and differences of faith groups.
  3. Explore ways you can apply the learning in this book to your life and work.
