Overview: Religious Pluralism is here to stay.  This is true not only among major religious traditions of the world but also the tremendous varieties of beliefs among the many sub-groups within Christianity.

Whether it is in a hospital, long term care facility, school, prison, military or the town square, spiritual caregivers encounter many persons who have different faith values and beliefs that challenge attempts to support and care for them.

This seminar will explore this balancing act and through a collaborative learning process and reflecting on resources discuss the tensions, challenges, and rewards of having a deeper understanding of what separates us and what brings us together.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Explore the problems and possibilities of religious and spiritual diversity.
  2. Discuss strategies or approaches that can bridge the gaps that often exist.
  3. Apply learnings to individual work and settings.
